Finding a Balance..

Standard

Since the weather has changed and it gets dark so early I have been using my treadmill a couple of times a week. This is working out (no pun intended) okay because on those nights I will either have left overs or put something in the oven to cook while I am working out. But last week (and in all honesty two weeks ago), I started to work late hours again (I know.. but shocked face here). This is causing the whole workout, eating dinner thing to blow up. By the time I get home, work out and then fix dinner it is close to 9pm at night and I know that cannot be good.

I know that this is something that I need to work on because my work schedule, well if it is a good week I work 8 hours a day. I can’t stop exercising and I need to improve my diet because I have gained back some of the weight that I have lost in the last three years.

I’m not really sure how other people handle this balance but it is something I am struggling with. Especially, since right now I am also doing some graphic work on the side. Which cuts even more time out of my schedule. To say the least I have been a little busy.

Maybe you could give me some hints on how you balance work, exercise and diet?

New Job

Standard

Back in October I changed jobs at the company I work in. I went from being in Customer Support to being in the Quality Assurance. After a month I was switched from the core business web application to a new one that I had been working on prior my job change. The new application was much cleaner and didn’t have so many background processes in order to make it work.

The new application project was removed from the core business and once again I found myself working on the original web application. Where I was starting to feel good about my job and understanding the process, I am not back to where I was in October and feeling like I don’t know anything. This is not a feeling that I enjoy.

On top of it all my work laptop which I have had since I started the company has not liked working on the original web application. There are so many processes that has to be used and so many tweeks that have to be made that my computer is not handling these changes well.

Learning a new job, a computer that is not working makes for a very frustrated willow who feels like she can’t do her job. A frustrated willow is not a happy willow. I like to feel productive at work, and while I do love challenges I like to feel like I have won a few battles in the war. Which has not been happening for me, at least in my mind.
